A new charging complex for electric cars "Vyborgsky" has been opened in St. Petersburg. Today it is the most powerful charging hub in Russia. Its total capacity is 3 MW and it is focused on charging both private and commercial electric vehicles.
The project was implemented by Electrohab in partnership with the leading Russian IT operator Electro.cars and four manufacturers of charging stations. 19 stations of various models and configurations allow you to charge up to 50 electric cars simultaneously, providing both ultra-fast and slow charging. Another feature of the new complex is safety and convenience. Round–the-clock lighting, a video surveillance system, 24/7 technical support and a lounge area for relaxation create a new level of comfort for electric motorists. Pavel Derbentsev, General Director of Electrohab JSC, emphasized that in this project the company "fully implemented the main priorities: ultra-fast charging sessions and round-the-clock unconditional customer comfort."
PSS Corporation has custom-made 6 fast charging stations, each with a capacity of 150 kW, which allows charging an electric vehicle in an average of 20-30 minutes. GB/T and CCS2 ports for Chinese, Russian and European electric cars, dynamic balancing system and own monitoring system guarantee comfortable operation of the equipment. Also, for the convenience of drivers, the stations are equipped with holders for charging cables, each of which, by the way, weighs more than 5 kg.
The Vyborgsky hub has already become the second project implemented in the northern capital by Electrohab in partnership with Electro.cars and PSS Corporation. The first complex, Pervomaisky, with a total capacity of 1.5 MW and designed for simultaneous charging of 30 electric vehicles, was opened at the end of 2023.
According to Maxim Politov, Director of Strategic Development at PSS Corporation, the electric transport market is showing steady growth from year to year.:
"More and more drivers understand the advantages of electric vehicles over cars with internal combustion engines. The growing number of electric vehicles also requires infrastructure development. Fortunately, we can see that Russia is moving within the global trend, opening hubs with dozens of public charging stations for both private and commercial vehicles. Their importance is difficult to overestimate. They are convenient for electric motorists, stimulate the further development of electric transport, are economically profitable and, most importantly, reduce the load on the network."
